City Ring Kirchheim/Teck 10.11.2014 – Digitale Potentiale für den lokalen Handel (“Digital Possibilities for Local Retail”)
More than 150 firms are represented by the Kirchheimer City Ring, including retail businesses of all sizes and the Kirchheim car dealerships. The Kirchheimer City Ring is supported by Kirchheim’s Office for Economic Development, by local banks and by the daily newspaper Der Teckbote. Together, the City Ring makes important decisions for the town of Kirchheim unter Teck. With the slogan “Think global – buy local” as their theme, the City Ring of Kirchheim unter Teck invited e-commerce and multi-channel experts Dr. Dirk Funck (Nürtingen-Geislingen University of Applied Science) and Markus Fost (FOSTEC Commerce Consultants) to talk to local businesses on 10th November 2014. The presentations given by the two specialists served as a “kick-off” for future discussions about how local businesses can use digital opportunities to pre-emptively counteract the trend of town centre decline. Alongside the City Ring committee members and the Bund der Selbstständigen (BDS) e.V. (German Association for the Self-Employed), Angelika Matt-Heidecker, mayor of Kirchheim unter Teck, took part in the talks and opened the subsequent discussions about potential solutions for town marketing. During his visit to the CityRing, Markus Fost of FOSTEC Commerce Consultants gave a talk on the topic of digital possibilities for local retail. The talk is available to download for free below.
